A neat introcudtion of Nuc. Chem

something i came across, i learned something and i found it a good basics sort of video on NC so i thought i would post

Nukes are not the solution to your problems

It has been said that Nuclear weapons are the "greatest peacekeeping invention" in history- but will it really last? Sure, it may have stopped war around WWII times, but today isn;t the same. Numerous countries now are in possession of nuclear warheads- an estimated 19,000 of them it seems- and America, Pakistan, and Israel being of the more famous owners of them.
But why do they have nukes in the first place? Common reasons range from, as above, keeping peace to having defense against others who have them. Defending against weapons. The original plan for them is no longer valid since we don't need to go bombarding japan every few years.
First off, keeping them to defend against more nuclear weapons is already flawed logic. A large reason why other ocuntries are assembling warheads at all is to combat their foes and their nuclear weapons. Such as the USA. The american government has nuclear weapons to combat foreign ones, which were, sometimes, spurred by us. It becomes simple, if all sides put down their arms then there is no need to raise them back up.
Of course there could always be an insurrection where having some force could help. If a World War III started, then perhaps nuking another country would solve it for sure. To me that sounds absurd; solving violence with more violence. Not to mention the thousands of innocents nukes take off by default. They can't cloose which part of the country- what house to muke. It's a weapon of mass destruction for a reason.
But why bombard another country to solve a war? Will that work like WWII? i'm sure it won't. Say, we got in a war with pakistan or which ever country you like with warheads. If we bombard them, they'll respond with theirs. That's what they make them for. defending against stuff like that.
It won't be like Japan where they surrender wthout a fight- and it won't end well.
Naturally you could say that countries realize this, so they won't attack another, therby creating some strange form of peace and nonwar. However that's a risk. A gamble of no countries doing anything dumb and not all people are of the same views as another- it makes us what we are. Human.
The USA might one day find a cause to engage war in, maybe the europeans will want us out of their land, maybe a terrorist group will get some for their own usage and that could mean anything really. Following any of these or however you want to make up, it will not only end in probable casualties of who knows how many, but loads of other complications as well..

What in the world is a Flifferhuzza

Upon some chance, our teacher proposed us a challenge to delve into later in the evening. He asked simply- to define flifferhuzza. Now, the challenging part of such a task is that I've never heard of such a thing. It made me curious for a moment- breaking it down doesn't work since i didn't know what a fliffer, nor a huzza is. It doesn't sound like any other work I've come across, nor fit much anything in any context.
As any person think do in my case, Google was the surefire remedy for my confusion- so i plugged it in. Sure enough there were dozens of links on the word. Countless people writing of it as if they knew it their whole lives. But what was it? Surely it's a noun of sorts from the context but what else could i piece together?
I had stalled for a while in order to put some thought into it. Surely it would come to me in an hours notice, but nothing. Not for days. But then suddenly it all made sense. I had been lost in my own flifferhuzza the whole time- trying to find it.

A request

Homework should be gone, or at the very least lessened. It takes up far too much of peoples time after school; for barely any of the teachers time. I mean, one to two hours is fine, sure, but for each class? Do we not have a life? Nothing to do every night besides homework? Wake up, go to school, come back, do homework and fall asleep. Unless that all we're supposed to do until we graduate from college then i say it should be revisited.

The 6 hours in school daily, plus maybe a few hours a night is enough. I see no reason to ever work past 9:00 a night in order to not get marked down. Why not just cram it into the 6 hours we have in school? Why make us take more time out of our daily lives of leisure? I'm not saying that the idea is bad but why that much?

People have jobs as well. Other obligations to do everyday. Clubs, sports and the like. Combined with homework, what relaxation do you get?

PS: no, Mr Sheehan i don't mean your class, your homework is fine <_<

most absurd argument i could come up with

How many problems exist in today's world? People get fat while others starve. Thousands go off nothing while others spend hundreds per day. While governments spend billions they don't have on expensive aircrafts and god knows what. How many people are taken advantage of each day, in who knows how many ways? Is there no way to fix it?
How many conflicts must happen on a day to day basis before humans will stop? Why, through all these thousands of years has the cycle not changed? Why do humans keep fighting? Keep finding problems with each other?
Why not stop them?
If there is a way to stop the fighting and conflict why not take it? Would anyone not?
It's simple. Without humans how is it possible to not have peace? Aggressiveness and fighting is part of human nature. So long as they are here there will be conflict. That is unavoidable. But if the goal is to solve problems then why not clear all humans? What better solution is there? Think of all the problems that would be solved. Not one person left to be hungry, not one to. No more complaints exist. No more tragedies. No more disasters. There will be absolutely nothing disagreeable to humans past that point. The world will be at rest. No one will be upset and all problems will be solved. Isn't that so?

Procrastination

"What do you think you're doing?! You still need to do your homework! Get going."
"B-but..i'm busy.."
"Oh? With a video? That's no excuse."
"It's really interesting though! You know it is.."
"Eh..it's neat..still.."
"Just lemme finish this one and we'll see.."
"<_< fine.."
----
"Can you get going yet?.."
"I'm kinda tired..maybe a nap first"
"Nono just finish it up and you can sleep"
"I can do it later don't worry!"
"Well if you can do it later do it now.."
"I can't concentrate like this..goodnight"
"Wait!.."
----
*groan*
"Now can you?.."
"I'll try.."
----
"Care to explain why there's a video playing again?"
"Not really no"
"Just turn it off and write it already.."
*sleepily begins writing with an expression of disagreement*
----
"Why'd you stop? You only have 4 lines down!.."
"Well..<< friends..and things.."
"...." *turns off computer*

The life of a paper

I was born not too long ago, however my mother regrettably died giving birth to me. Everything that happened the last few days have been a blur but now i find myself trapped, stuck between hundreds of my brothers, or half brothers, or at least look alikes. You can never tell really. It's rather troublesome to not know who your family is sometimes. It's dark in here; lonely. My two neighbors just lay there, not really talkers. The thin line of light comes from the side where an invisible barrier prevents my escape.

A few days later i find myself fresh air and beautiful light..but it wasn't sunlight..no, i was in a building with strange mobile beings, looking at me. I'm put in front of one of them nonchalantly, as if i were a mere tool. I start to panic as one of them takes his pencil to my flesh, cutting at me. Fortunately it doesn't hurt much as i dont rip, but it hurts nonetheless. The only benefit is that i finally have conversation, the being of sorts telling me his ideas on "A walk in the woods." Whatever that is.

A few weeks later- or less; i can't really tell, i find that i've come back to the creature, decorated with a number on my head. He grins a a bit then walks to what appears to be a safekeep for us; opens it and throws me inside.

How long will i be here? Trapped again in what they call a "folder" in the dark regions of the classroom. Will i ever be let out ?

Burke's Parlor: The Ingredients of Enthusiasm: An Inquiry

Learning is like most other things we all do in the sense that it's driven by a cause. The question is what drives people to learn? The answer is inconvenient for use but it's different for everyone. Some may learn to get into a good college or university, get a good job and make more money. Some may just be curious and want to learn answers to their questions. Many times it's completely different, such as needing to learn C++ to write a chat bot. In my case, as with arguably everyone who goes to school or learns skills, it's a mixture of those.

If you want people to learn, give them a reason. People get discouraged and see no reason to continue, not seeing success as an option in some cases. Some people are just very simply 'unmotivated'. If they have a goal or direction in life they'll put the effort in; for example a lot of people's goals is a good job, but what job do you all want? If they have no direction they lose sight of their education. This is especially easy because they don't see the benefit of what they're learning. Social Studies arguably has little real world use. Science is stereotyped for professors and doctors in a way. If you know how to speak read and write why get better english? (i used to think like that once) There's an excuse for everything and not enough reason for some people to learn. They see no benefit from it.

If you want people to learn, with "Enthusiasm" as you say, they need a reason and they need to know how education will help them. The reason is only theirs to choose and not something anyone can assign.

A quick story of courage

Courage has been defined as the ability to do something that frightens him or her. Along the same lines, courage could be interpreted as the will to do something challenging, or whose outcome is unknown. Even though no one reading this would know who anyone is, i'll just keep names out for personal taste and simplicity of writing.

One story of courage i recall focuses around a group of people, where one day, one of their friends dissapeared without a word. As expected, we were concerned about her for a while. A few weeks later two  of them decided to start looking for her. They even asked for the help of people close to her area since she wasn't anywhere close geographically. The details of exactly what transpired aren't perfectly clear to me yet, nor anyone else involved it seems, but one of them found her in her usual city, unable to contact us from a lack of internet and supposed amnesia.

The point i'd like to get across, however, is their courage; going above and beyond on something that's outcome is unsure and not giving up, given that it took a decent while to actually find her.
